Round around the Amsterdam Waterleidingduinen

We cycle along the sea wall along this route. You can take a refreshing dip at various beach exits. At Langenvelderslag we go into the interior. We pass country estates and villa villages. We drive past bulb fields, which bloom beautifully in the spring. Water supply for Amsterdam and the surrounding area is provided in the Amsterdam Waterleidingduinen. You can not see this from the bike, but you can enter the dunes on foot in various places.

In spring you also cycle along beautiful bulb fields!

Directions:

We start at the Raadhuisplein in the center of Zandvoort at bicycle junction 79. We now go to junction 31 – 6 – 44 – 15 – 76 – 72 – 82 – 83 – 77 and back to the center 79.

At Vogelenzang the landscape becomes more open. There are many ditches that were specially dug for the removal of sand. . The sand was needed for the brick factory between Hillegom and Lisse. Because of the excavations, the groundwater was higher and a calcareous layer of sand was released. This provided an ideal breeding ground for bulb growing.
